Let's begin... To make a blend I chose these two images:
If you’re unsure about yourself then just take the same images so you can compare your resultsJ To paste the image into your Photoshop just copy it, then go File -> New and after that Edit -> Paste. Now to start you need a new layer. To get it, go File -> New. I set mine to 400x300 pixels. Make sure your mode is RGB or your image will automatically go to black and white. Now to get the images into the new layer, open first one of them. Now on the left side there’s a tool bar.
Click on a ‘rectangular marquee tool’ (or you can just click M on your keyboard and it will automatically choose it). Now that you have that tool active, select the first image by dragging the tool over the picture. You don’t have to select the whole picture, if you don’t want to. Now go to Edit -> Copy. After that open the new layer you just made and go Edit -> Paste this time. Now you should have your first image in the new layer. After pasting the image, you can movie it inside the new layer to wherever you want by choosing ‘move tool’ from the toolbar (or just press V on your keyboard). Do the very same thing with the other one too. When you’re done with it, you should have something like this:
(P.S. - Right now I have images what are exactly the perfect size for the new layer we created. But in the future you might have bigger or smaller images than you actually want on your blend. So it’s important you know how to change image size.)
Ok, so now we need to blend the images. To do that choose ‘eraser’ from the toolbar (or click E on your key board). Check that the mode would be ‘brush’. You can also change the eraser size. And now just start to erase the part of the image you want to get rid of. A suggestion: You can play around with ‘opacity’ and ‘flow’ what are on the toolbar at the top of your page.
The closer you get to the image part you want to keep on your blend, just take down the opacity all the time. That way you won’t roughly cut the picture and it blends nice without losing any important details you want to retain. Right now I have something like this:
P.S – On the right side you can see little some other little windows. In the ‘layer window’ you can change the image you want to work with on the blend by just clicking on it. And in the ‘history window’ you can take back your last step if you went wrong and what to change it.
After you’re done, you should have something like this:
