How To Colorize

There are many different ways to colorize a picture. In this tutorial you can learn one of them. There is no 'right way' or 'wrong way' to colorize, this is the kind of thing where you can let your imagination take over. By trying different things you can discover many interesting effects (doesn't matter if you use hue/saturation, air brush etc for colorizing). So remember: be creative adn don't be afraid to try new stuff.

Now let's begin.

Open the image you want colorize

1. Go to layer>duplicate layer

2.Change the mode of the copied layer to luminosity

3. Open a new layer by clicking on the button what's marked with the red on the next pic
4. Make sure that the new layer is between the two images in the box

Now click on the new layer and pick the brush tool and any color u want for the skin or hair. Dont colorize anything but THE HAIR AND THE SKIN. Each 'body part' has to have its own new layer like:

So this is after colorizing the hair and the skin

ps : before coloring the area u can change the brush opacity so the color would be lighter

Now go to layer>flatten image and open a new layer like before only now you will colorize the make up ,the eyes and whats left. The best mode for this is overlay

Then just start colorizing any part u want and play with the opacity
Remember each section u colorize has to have it's own layer, so you gotta make a new layer each time

After you'r done with this the colorization may look a little too boring and not so colorful. But that can be easliy fixed by playing around with brightness/contrast, color balance or jsut by using some cool patterns and burshes. Be creative!
