These are just basics on how to install brushes and fonts to your computer for people who might now know it yet.

Let’s start with brushes – brushes are really good ‘decorations’ for your blends. You can easily cover up you ‘blending mistakes’ with some good brushes. There are millions of brushes you can find in the internet.

Now if you’ve found some good brushes and want to use them in your Photoshop, then first you gotta download the brush into your computer. The brushes usually come in .zip or .rar files. So you gotta extract them first. To do that do a right click on the brush file. And now choose Extract Files/Extract To… (whatever your computer offers you). Now the window pops up and you gotta choose a folder where you want to extract the brush to. Choose My Computer -> Local Disk -> Program Files -> Adobe -> Photoshop -> Presets -> Brushes. The click ‘ok’ and it extracts the brushes. (You can also choose ‘extract here’ then it extracts the file right there and you can just open the brushes folder in your computer and drag brushes into the right folder).

Now to use the brush in your Photoshop, open Photoshop. Now active your Brush Tool ( letter B on your keyboard).

Now open the brushes

There you should have all your brushes listed If the brush you want to use is not there, just click on Load Brushes… and choose whatever brush you want.

After that feel free to work with your brushes!!

A little tip: if you use brushes, create a new layer for them (Layer -> New -> Layer) that was you can easily just use the layer if you don’t like the brushes on the blend and you ca also easily erase the parts of the brushes you don’t like. When you’re done just go Layer -> Merge Layers and it merges the brush layer with the blend one.

Installing fonts is much easier. Firt you gotta download the font into your computer. Then make sure you put it into fonts folder (My Computer -> Local Disk -> Wondows – Fonts) and then the brush should be automatically in your Photoshop too (also in other programs like Microsoft Word etc.) And like that you can download tons of great fonts.
